Legal news article for Ohio personal injury attorney’s. Two adults and seven children injured after a Honda Civic runs stop sign.

Ohio personal injury attorney alert- A vehicle crash involving a Honda Civic and a Honda Odyssey results in 9 injuries.

Cincinnati, OH—A two-vehicle crash in the 1900 block of Milton Street left nine people injured, which included seven children. The crash happened early Friday morning, August 14, 2009 at 1:47 a.m., as reported by Cincinnati.com.

According to Fairfield Township Police officials, a 2008 Honda Civic was driving southbound on Milton Street and ran the stop sign at the intersection of Imlay Avenue. The Honda Civic then hit a 1996 Honda Odyssey van, which was driving through the intersection at the time of the crash. The van apparently had the right-of-way. The occupants of the van, two women and their combined seven daughters, all suffered injuries. The ages of the children reportedly range from 11 months to 15-years-old. The injured victims were transported by Fairfield Township and Hamilton emergency medical services (EMS) crews to three separate hospitals for treatment. The victims received medical treatment at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Liberty Township, Mercy Hospital in Fairfield and Fort Hamilton Hospital. The 11-month-old toddler and a 3-year-old were transported by a relative to the Children’s Hospital Medical Center in Cincinnati, because the young children were too afraid of the flashing lights to ride in the ambulance. The driver of the van was transferred to the Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati to be with her injured child. An 8-year-old girl, suffered serious injuries and underwent surgery on her eye early Friday morning at the Children’s Hospital in Cincinnati. The driver of the Civic, Donald Brandon Harbaum, 23, of Fairfield Township, was issued a traffic citation for failing to yield for a stop sign and driving on a suspended license. Harbaum was reportedly uninjured in the crash.

Police officials believe the van may have been overloaded at the time of the wreck. Investigators are currently trying to determine if the children were restrained at the time of the collision. Accident investigators are reportedly en route to the Children’s Hospital to speak with the driver of the van.
