West Virginia personal injury attorneys alert- A vehicle crash involving a school bus injures two people.
Martinsburg, WV—A four-vehicle accident left two people injured on W. Va. 9 in a chain reaction crash. The multiple vehicle wreck happened on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at 12:00 p.m., as reported by The Herald-Mail.
According to police reports, a westbound 2003 Dodge Ram driven by, John Breitenbach, 26, of Hedgesville, slammed into the rear-end of a Jeep Commander driven by, Melissa Diotrowsky, 45, of Hedgesville. Diotrowsky then crashed into a 1995 Chevrolet truck driven by, Donald Butts, 57, of Hedgesville. The impact of the crash catapulted the Chevy truck into the eastbound lanes of W.Va 9 and hit an oncoming school bus. The Jeep and Chevy were reportedly stopped near the driveway of J&T Archery so another vehicle could turn into a driveway alongside the road. The school bus was reportedly transporting five Paw Paw High School students to James Rumsey Technical Institute at the time of the crash. None of the students on the bus, or the school bus driver, Tammy Farris, of Berkeley Springs, were reportedly injured in the pile-up. Reports indicated Butts and Diotrowsky were transported by area emergency medical services (EMS) professionals to City Hospital in Martinsburg for treatment. Butts was reportedly treated and released. Police officials cited Breitenbach for failure to slow down to avoid a collision with stopped traffic.
