Kansas automobile accident lawyer alert- An automobile accident involving a Chevrolet Camero and a fire truck ended in two deaths.

Kansas City, KS—A two-vehicle wreck left two people dead in the 3200 block of Indiana Avenue. The fatal head-on crash occurred on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 4:15 a.m., as reported by The Kansas City Star.

According to police officials, a Kansas City fire truck was returning to the station after finishing a call, when a speeding Chevrolet Camero hit the right front corner of the fire truck. The fire truck was heading north on Indiana Avenue, and the Camero was traveling south on Indiana Avenue while weaving in and out of the southbound and northbound lanes at a high rate of speed. The driver of he fire truck saw the Camero heading directly for them and tried to veer the truck off the side of the road to avoid a collision, but the Camero slammed into the front end of the fire truck. The unidentified 24-year-old driver of the car sustained severe injuries and was rushed to a local hospital by responding emergency medical services (EMS) professionals for treatment. The passengers inside the car, a relative of the driver, Crystal S. Lewis, 47, and Melinda N. Reliford 32, died at the scene of the head-on crash. One of the firefighters traveling in the fire truck reported pains in his ribs, and was transported by EMS crews to a local hospital for treatment. Police officials stated a blood sample was taken from the driver of the Camero to determine if the driver was impaired at the time of the crash.
