Illinois automobile accident lawyers alert- A vehicle crash involving a garbage truck left two people injured.

Chicago, IL—A collision between a car and garbage truck in the Northwest Side’s Logan Square community left two men dead, and two others injured. The fatal collision happened early Wednesday morning, September 2, 2009 around 2:50 a.m., as reported by the Chicago Sun-Times.

According to Police reports, a car and a private garbage truck crashed at North Central Park and West Fullerton avenues. Initial accident reports indicated the wreck was a hit-and-run, but officials later learned the individual the garbage truck driver saw running from the scene of the crash was not the driver of the car. Michael B. Tate, 30, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by responding emergency medical services (EMS) personnel. Marc Duncan, 27, was rushed to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center by EMS crews, where he was later pronounced dead by attending medical professionals. The garbage truck driver and another unidentified person were transported by EMS professionals to Northwestern Hospital for treatment of their unknown injuries sustained in the crash. The medical examiner’s office stated autopsies are scheduled for late Wednesday. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a factor in the collision. The Major Accident Investigation Unit is currently investigating the fatal two-vehicle crash.
