Kansas Highway Patrol alerts Kansas truck wreck lawyers- A car crash involving a Buick Century and a Chevrolet Silverado injured five.
Clay Center, KS—A two-vehicle wreck injured five, after a car and a truck collided on US-24. The crash happened on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 around 3:45 p.m., at US-24 and 13th street, as reported by The Clay Center Dispatch.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a gold 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck driven by, Duane D. Reilly, 81, of Abilene, was attempting to make a left turn onto 13th street. As Reilly attempted to make the turn he collided into a 1989 Buick Century driven by, April Elizabeth Jesse, 26, of Leonardville, who was driving eastbound on US-24 and was coming up over a hill. Firefighters reportedly had to use the Jaws of Life to extract April, her kids Brian E. Jesse, and Annabell Hoppe, both 4, along with Brian C. Jesse, 26, all from of Leonardville. April and her two children were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) crews to a local hospital for treatment. Hoppe reportedly may have suffered a back injury. Brian declined treatment, but reports indicated he was later taken to the hospital. EMS professionals also transported Reilly to Clay County Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Police officials stated all occupants were wearing their seatbelts, and the children were properly restrained in their child safety seats.
