Legal news for Oregon automobile accident attorneys. Three-car crash seriously injured three people.

Oregon State Police alert Oregon automobile accident lawyers- Life Flight was called to a car crash, which injured three people.

St. Helens, OR—A three-vehicle crash left a Portland police captain and his wife seriously injured on Highway 30. The fatal multiple vehicle crash happened on Monday evening, September 21, 2009 around 5:00 p.m., near Rainier, as reported by The Daily News.

According to the Oregon State Police, a Plymouth Voyager, driven by Jeffery L. Lidgett, 57, of Clatskanie was traveling westbound on Highway 30, when he swerved into the eastbound lane to avoid a deer he thought was going to run out into the highway. An eastbound Pontiac Sunfire driven by Justin M Aldrich, 24, of Castle Rock veered into the eastbound shoulder to avoid the Plymouth. The Pontiac then swerved across the three lanes of traffic and crashed into the westbound ditch. A BMW driven by Eric Hendricks, and his wife Nadine, were following the Pontiac and also attempted to avoid the Plymouth by moving into the eastbound shoulder, but the van struck the drivers side of the BMW. Eric and Nadine Hendricks were trapped inside their wrecked car, and were extracted by Columbia River Fire and Rescue. The Henricks’ were transported by emergency medical service (EMS) ambulance to the St. John Medical Center in Longview. Eric was then airlifted by Life Flight to Legacy Emanuel, and Nadine was also flown by Life Flight to OHSU. Lidgett was transported by EMS crews to St. John for treatment of his injuries sustained in the crash. Aldrich stated he would seek his own medical attention. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Clatskanie Police Department, Columbia Fire & Rescue, and the Oregon Department of Transportation all responded to the scene of the crash. The Oregon State Police are reportedly investigating the three-vehicle crash.
