Legal news for Utah construction accident attorneys. A construction worker was killed after a roller compactor fell on him.

Occupational Health and Safety Administration alerts Utah construction accident lawyer- A construction worker was killed at a sewage treatment plant by a compactor roller.

Orem, UT—A construction worker was crushed to death at a sewage plant in Eagle Mountain after a heavy piece of equipment fell on him. The fatal construction accident happened on Monday, September 28, 2009 around 1:30 p.m., at 2045 North and Sweetwater Road at the Eagle Mountain Sewage Treatment Plant, as reported by the Desert News.

According to police authorities, a worker identified as Joshua Parks, 23, of Orem, was driving a roller compactor over a large pile of dirt when the heavy piece of equipment became unsteady, rolled over, and crushed the worker. Another construction worker at the sewage plant reported he had seen smoke from where Parks was working at, and rushed over to help him. The worker desperately attempted to get the roller off of Parks, but was unsuccessful and dialed 911 for help. A medical helicopter was called to the scene of the fatal construction accident, but was turned away after emergency medical services (EMS) crews discovered that Parks died almost instantly. Nelson Brothers Construction reportedly employed Parks, not Eagle Mountain, when the tragic construction accident occurred. Officials with the Federal Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) http://www.osha.gov/ are expected to conduct a full investigation into the fatal accident.
