Legal news for Texas aviation accident attorneys. A twin-engine plane went down in Wise County, which injured four people.

Federal Aviation Administration alerts Texas aviation accident attorneys—A twin-engine plane crashed and critically injured four people.

Dallas, TX—A twin-engine plane crash seriously injured four people when the two engines of the plane malfunctioned. The plane crash happened on Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2009 around 2:40 p.m., near County Road 4227 and Currie Road in Wise County, as reported by the Fort Worth Star Telegram.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) http://www.faa.gov/, a twin-engine Beechcraft King Air plane took off from Wiley Post Airport in Oklahoma City around 1:50 p.m., and was en route to the Meacham Airport in Fort Worth when the pilot radioed air traffic controllers around 2:40 p.m. The pilot, Rod Lawrence, reported they were experiencing a malfunction with the plane’s engines. The plane then plummeted to the ground, which broke off the nose of the plane and the left wing, and left the fuselage bowed in the middle. The four occupants of the plane were injured in the crash, and were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to the Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, and to the John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth for treatment. The owner of the aircraft and part owner of Texland Petroleum, Robert Schumacher, reportedly suffered bone fractures in the crash. A second passenger and Texland Petroleum president, Jerry Namy, are listed in critical condition. The pilot and Kendal Hill, a third passenger, are also listed in critical condition at this time. Officials with the FAA are expected to conduct a full investigation into the airplane crash.
