Legal news for Kentucky automobile accident attorneys. A school bus and a pickup truck crash left eleven people injured.

Kentucky State Police alerts Kentucky automobile accident lawyers-A school bus crash involving a Dodge Ram injured 11 people.

Pendleton County, KY—Eleven people were injured when a school bus transporting 30 students pulled out into the path of a pickup truck. The school bus crash happened on Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2009 around 4:00 p.m., on U.S. 27 near Falmouth, as reported by Cincinnati.com.

The Pendleton County Sheriff reported a school bus was transporting 27 high school students, one middle school student, and one elementary school student, when the school bus pulled out in front of a Dodge Ram pickup truck, which was pulling a trailer. The school bus reportedly turned around in the lot of H&M Tire on U.S. 27, and then pulled out and made a left-hand turn to go north on U.S. 27. The pickup truck was traveling southbound on U.S. 27, and was unable to stop in time before slamming into the side of the bus. Two injured students were airlifted by emergency medical services (EMS) helicopter to University Hospital for treatment of their injuries. Eight other injured victims were transported by EMS ambulance or by their parents to St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, Fort Thomas and Grant County, or to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center for treatment of their injuries.

The unidentified driver of the truck was also transported by EMS ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. The driver of the school bus was reportedly uninjured. Both the drivers involved in the crash are being tested to determine if they were under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol at the time of the crash. The Pendleton County Sheriff’s Office and the Kentucky State Police accident reconstruction team are conducting a full investigation into the school bus crash.
