West Palm Beach, Florida (CaymanMama.com – EIN Presswire) — Ed Kearney, president of West Palm Beach Commercial Real Estate Company – Kearney Commercial Realty Inc., has taken office as president of the Palm Beach chapter of Realtors Commercial Alliance.
In his opening address to members, Kearney said that the coming year would be challenging. The commercial market may worsen due to CMBS defaults, declining rents, higher vacancies, rising property taxes, bankruptcies, tight credit and a small pool of prospective tenants.
“No one can predict when the commercial real estate market will bottom out, when mortgages will be readily available and when the economy will start growing,” Kearney said. “But values today are significantly better today than they were a year or two ago.”
“I urge all commercial brokers to look at today’s problems from a different perspective,” Kearney said. “Look at the glass as half-full. Try to convince your clients and investors to do the same and to embrace today’s opportunities. If successful in that effort, both you and they will prosper.”
Kearney is leading the Palm Beach-based organization for the 2009-2010 fiscal year.
