Oklahoma personal injury lawyers alerts- Two crashes left six wandering horses dead.

Tulsa, OK—Twenty to thirty loose horses on U.S. Highway 169 caused two separate car crashes. Six horses were fatally struck on Friday morning, October 16, 2009 around 3:00 a.m., on U.S. Highway 169 between Owasso and Tulsa, as reported by Newson6.com.

According to Owasso Police and Tulsa Police officials, 20 to 30 horses escaped from a pasture located east of the highway near 56th Street North. The loose horses then wandered on onto the highway. It is currently unknown how the horses escaped from the pasture. Before police officials could shut down the highway to motorists, so they could round up the horses, two vehicles slammed into the wandering horses. The two separate crashes left two people injured. According to officials, a 35-year-old man and a 19-year-old man was transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to an area hospital for treatment.

The 35-year-old man was reportedly listed in serious condition, while the 19-year-old is in fair condition at this time. Around 7:00 a.m., police officials confirmed all the horses were rounded up and returned to the pasture from which they escaped from. Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the vehicle accidents that left six horses dead.
