Legal news for Utah aviation accident attorneys. A UVU student was killed when his Cessna plane crash near Provo airport.

Federal Aviation Administration alerts Utah aviation accident attorneys- A plane crash killed a Utah Valley University student.

Provo, UT—A student at Utah Valley University (UVU) tragically lost his life after the single-engine Cessna 210 Centurion he was piloting crashed near an airport runway. The airplane crash happened on Wednesday, October 21, 2009 around 4:10 p.m., just three miles from the Provo Municipal Airport runway, as reported by the Desert News.

The UVU aviation science administrative student, Benjamin Hill, 30, was reportedly en route from the Spanish Fork-Springfield Airport when Hill reported he was experiencing engine trouble. The single-engine airplane crashed onto a dike road which encircles a landfill near the airport, which is nearly 500-feet from the Provo Municipal Airport runway. Hill is reportedly a certified flight instructor for the UVU, and had previously worked at Spanish Fork Airport prior to switching to UVU to obtain his flight certification two years ago. Hill was apparently the only occupant of the plane when it made its fatal plunge. According to UVU officials, Hill was not operating a school aircraft or in a UVU capacity when the crash occurred. Hill leaves behind a loving wife and two beautiful children. Officials with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) http://www.faa.gov/ are expected to conduct a full investigation into the plane crash.
