Wrong-way wreck killed two California women

Legal news for California automobile accident attorneys. A two-vehicle wrong-way crash killed three people and injured three others.

California Highway Patrol alerts California auto accident attorneys- Wrong-way crash involving a Chevrolet Silverado and a Toyota Tundra killed two people.

San Bernardino, CA—A wrong-way driver caused a two-vehicle collision, which left two women dead and three other people injured. The head-on crash happened on Monday morning, October 26, 2009 around 3:00 a.m., on 91 Freeway west of Lakeview Avenue, as reported by the San Bernardino Sun.

The California Highway Patrol stated Jessica Shekell, 21, of Fullerton was traveling westbound on the eastbound lanes of 91 Freeway in her Toyota Tundra, when she crashed head-on into a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 44-year-old Sally Miguel. Both the driver of the Chevy truck and a passenger, Patricia Miguel, 30, were killed in the crash.

Patricia was pronounced dead by medical professionals after arriving at Western Medical Center in Santa Ana for treatment of her injuries. Sally was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews. Two other passengers identified as Sara Miguel, 11, and Mary Miguel, who are Miguel’s nieces, were injured in the wreck. Sara was transported by EMS crews to Western Medical Center for treatment. Mary was taken by EMS teams to UCI Medical Center for treatment. Officials also reported that Shekell sustained life-threatening injuries in the wreck. The occupants of the Chevy truck were reportedly not wearing seatbelts when the collision occurred. Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the wrong-way crash.
