Florida automobile accident- 15 Florida cheerleaders injured in van crash

Florida Highway Patrol alerts Florida automobile accident attorneys- A ford van crashed on their way home from a cheerleading competition.

Tampa, FL—A van carrying 15 cheerleaders home from a cheerleading competition blew out a tire and overturned on Interstate 275 on Sunday, November 22, 2009. The single-vehicle crash sent all 16 people to area hospitals around 1:00 p.m., as reported by TampaBay.com.

A 1998 Ford van, which was transporting 15 people from the Childs Park Rattlers youth football and cheerleading organization, was traveling southbound center lane on I-272, north of Westshore Boulevard, when a right rear tire blew out. The van then lost control, slammed into a concrete barrier, and then overturned. The driver of the van, Carlisa Wilson, 22, of St. Petersburg, and 15 cheerleaders were injured in the wreck. Half of the injured victims were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) teams to St. Joseph’s hospital, while the rest were taken to Tampa General Hospital for treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol identified the injured victims as: Tiara Cooper, 12; Angela Collins, 13; Jamesha Harris, 13; Diaminique Jordan, 12; Deasia Land, 11; Erica Lee, 12; Tatiana Martin, 11; Kalin Spivey, 13; Bashyala Williams, 11; Teema Cooper, 15; Deosha Dandy, 15; Rashauna Garvy, 13; Tekerra Lambert, 13; Teanna Spinks, 15; and James Boone, age unknown. Police officials are currently investigating the single-vehicle wreck.
