Legal news for Texas construction accident attorneys. Two worker plummeted nearly 70 feet from the roof.

Occupational Health and Safety Administration alerts Texas construction accident lawyer – A fall from Dallas Cowboys Stadium roof injured two workers.

Dallas, TX—Two construction workers slid from the Dallas Cowboys Stadium roof and onto a ledge, where they sustained non-life threatening injuries. The men were doing some maintenance work on the roof around 7:00 a.m., when they fell about 70 feet, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.

Police officials believe the icy rooftop may have played a part in the worker’s fall. The two construction workers reportedly slid and fell nearly 70 feet from the roof’s peak onto a lip on the edge of the roof. The Manhattan Construction subcontractor employees were not wearing a safety harness at the time, which is required by state and federal guidelines. One worker sustained a broken leg, chest injuries, and potential traumatic brain injury (TBI), and even lost consciousness. The other worker sustained back injuries, and was responding with emergency medical services (EMS) crews. Rescue crews reportedly had to climb a catwalk system inside the stadium to reach the two injured men on the ledge. Over a dozen rescuers had to use ladders and rappelling equipment to safely extract the men form the rooftop. The victims were on the roof for nearly an hour before making the 30-minute trip to the ground. One worker was transported by EMS teams to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, while the other was rushed to John Peter Smith trauma center. Police officials and the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) http://www.osha.gov/ are investigating the accident.
