Texas A&M Researchers Say Mango Effective for Treating Breast & Colon Cancer
January 13, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ Although it doesn’t score high as an anti-oxidant, mango should be considered as a “super food” in the vein of blueberries, acai and pomegranate, this according to Texas A&M researches.
At the Texas AgriLife Research facility in College Station, researchers claim that the mango polyphenol extracts, although not very effective against lung, leukemia and prostate cancers, can be used as an anti-cancer agent to promote cancer cell death in cases of common breast cancer and colon cancer. Even more encouraging was the finding that normal cells were unaffected by the treatment of the cancerous cells.
