Florida personal injury lawyer alerts- Two injured in Daytona Beach crash.

Daytona Beach, FL—WESH 2 News reporter Claire Metz suffered injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Thursday night, January 21, 2010. The violent motor vehicle collision (MVC) reportedly occurred after a driver ran a red light and struck the television news vehicle the reporter was traveling in, according to information provided by the News-JournalOnline.com.

Deputies from the Daytona Beach Police Department (DBPD) allegedly reported that the driver of a westbound pickup truck, 24-year-old Drew Clark, allegedly reached down to pick up a shoe that had fallen near his feet inside the vehicle, consequently causing the driver run a red traffic light on International Speedway Boulevard. Simultaneously, a news vehicle, driven by Hutch Breneman, was traveling north on Palmetto Avenue. The news vehicle, which reportedly had a green light while coming through the intersection of Palmetto Ave. and International Speedway Blvd., was struck on the passenger side by the oncoming pickup truck. The impact allegedly caused the news vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side.

Metz was reportedly transported to Halifax Health Medical Center by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews via EVAC ambulance. Breneman allegedly sustained minor injuries in the crash. It is unknown whether Breneman or Clark were transported to area hospitals for treatment. Clark was reportedly given a citation for careless driving.
