Nipro Medical Corp. recalls syringes due to needle detachment risk

Florida product liability lawyer alerts- FDA announces recall of defective insulin syringes.

Miami, FL—Nipro Medical Corporation has issued a voluntary recall of all GlucoPro Insulin Syringes, excluding those created for use with the Amigo Insulin pump. The recall, announced the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) http://www.fda.gov, was initiated after it was recognized that the needles may become detached from the syringe. The recall was made known on Thursday, January 21, 2010.

The FDA press release stated that if the needle were to become disengaged from the syringe, it could become caught in the insulin vial, push back into the syringe, or seemingly become lodged in the skin after an injection. The firm has not received any reports of injuries in regards to the malfunctioning syringes. The nationwide (including Puerto Rico) recall includes all syringes product codes and lot numbers expiring before November 1, 2011, as listed below.
