Solar Energy Gets Big Boost in New York State
January 28, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ New York Gov. David Patterson plans to boost solar energy collection in New York State by up to 100 megawatts, a more than 500% increase of the state’s current solar program.
Patterson’s proposal calls for installing photovoltaic systems in schools, colleges and government facilities as well as establishing community projects to connect municipal utilities with rural areas.
The New York Power Authority has put an April 9 deadline on bids on the project for a 20-year contract.
