Florida auto accident attorney alerts- Orange County Fire Rescue crews responded to scene of two vehicle collision that injured eight.

Orange County, FL—A motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving two cars on Orange Avenue occurred on Thursday, February 4, 2010, injuring eight people. The incident was reported to police dispatchers at 6:33 p.m., according to information provided by OrlandoSentinel.com

The two-vehicle collision reportedly occurred at the intersection of Orange Avenue and Wetherbee Road, which had to be closed for some time to allow rescue crews, called in on a “mass casualty incident response”, to aid those injured in the wreck.

Florida Highway Patrol officials allegedly reported each vehicle carrying four passengers at the time. Orange County Fire Rescue officials transported eight injured victims to area hospitals to be treated by responding medical professionals. The extents of the victim’s injuries were not disclosed in reports. The cause of the crash is also currently undisclosed. Investigations by the Florida Highway Patrol are reported underway.

According to the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), traffic crash statistics showed that when comparing data collected in 2008 to that in 2007, a decrease can be seen in the number of fatalities and crashes, as well as the overall crash fatality rate. For instance, in 2007, a total of 135, 601 crashes resulted in injury. However, statistics for 2008 demonstrate 128,162 crashes caused injuries.
