Occasional Smoker Actually an Addict Says American Lung Association
February 11, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ While the chain smoker is the person most often linked to cigarette addiction, the American Lung Association says that the occasional smoker should also gain the label of addict.
According to a study by the American Lung Association, part-time smokers are not immune to the risks chain smokers face. The ALA says that the social stigma surrounding chain smoking has prompted many smokers to cut down on their puffs and become part-time smokers.
The risk part-time smokers run, says the ALA, is that they never quit, instead taking pride in the fact that they’re not chain smokers, that they’re not addicted to smoking. Still, they smoke.
