Legal News for Indiana 18 Wheeler Accident Attorneys. A crash involving a car and a tractor-trailer left two people injured.

Indiana 18 wheeler accident lawyer alerts- two people were injured in crash involving a big rig.

Tippecanoe County, IN (News)—Two people suffered injury in a violent two-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck on Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at approximately 12 p.m. The motor vehicle collision (MVC) allegedly occurred on South Tippecanoe County Road 475 East, reports jconline.com.

A Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office deputy reported an unidentified motorist lost control of his/her southbound Pontiac G6, sending it careening in front of a Towne Air Freight tractor-trailer truck where it was consequently crushed by the oncoming big rig. The 18-wheeler reportedly drove over both the front and back of the vehicle during the incident. Luckily, no one was fatally injured in the wreckage.

Emergency medical services (EMS) crews seemingly responded to the scene to transport the Pontiac’s two occupants to area hospitals to be treated by medical professionals. The driver of the Pontiac allegedly sustained leg injuries while a passenger in the car at the time of the motor vehicle accident did not appear to have suffered serious injury. Both were transported to Clarian Arnett Hospital. The semi-truck driver was reported uninjured in the collision. It is unknown if either motorist received any traffic citations in regards to the incident. Investigations are expected to be underway.

According to information provided by the Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS), created by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), and the Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS), there were 4,066 large trucks involved in fatal motor vehicle crashes in 2008, resulting in a total of 4,229 fatalities throughout the nation.
