Conference to Explore Military Airborne Network Opportunities and Challenges

Los Angeles, February 17, 2010 – The Association of Naval Aviation, in association with Technology Training Corporation, will host the 4th Western Conference on Airborne Networks, in Las Vegas, NV, April 28-29, 2010.

This outstanding conference brings together the key players and organizations who are working on making next-generation Military Airborne Networks a reality. They will examine the latest OSD and Service communications and airborne networking needs, initiatives, and roadmaps, as well as the status of critical programs and emerging technologies. Among the many critical issues to be addressed include: What is the status and future of the Airborne Joint Tactical Radio System? Joint Aerial Layer Networking? What are the platform integration challenges solutions associated with next-generation aircraft (F-35, F/A-18), UAS, and rotorcraft? Will key programs like CABLE, BACN, TTNT, FAST, etc. provide the technical breakthroughs to make real-time into and out of the cockpit (RTIC/RTOC) and the web-enabled cockpit a reality?

Highlights will include presentations by Brigadier General Willam Bender, Director, Warfighter Systems Integration, USAF; Dr. Syed Shah, Associate Director for Network Technologies, Office of the Director, Defense Research and Engineering; Colonel Cordell DelaPena, Commander, 653rd Electronic Systems Group, USAF; Colonel Anthony Potts, Aviation Program Manager, PEO-Aviation, US Army; Captain Joseph Beel, Deputy Program Manager, Tactical Networks, PEO-C4I, US Navy; Colonel Ray Jones, Program Manager, Airborne, Maritime and Fixed Joint Tactical Radio System; and Mr. Claude Hashem, Vice President, Airborne and Maritime Systems, Northrop Grumman.
