Toyota is reportedly investigating problems with steering on its popular car model.
Washington (WiredPRNews.com) – Toyota as well as U.S. officials are investigating complaints regarding steering issues on Toyota Corolla vehicles. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), an investigation regarding the issue is set to be begin Thursday for approximately 500,000 of the vehicles according to a spokesperson with the Transportation Department.
Jerry Josefy, of Grandfield, Oklahoma is quoted by the AP as stating of issues with his 2009 Corolla, “It wants to wander all the time… You could have a wreck with it if you don’t keep your eyes on the road.”
As noted in the report, congressional hearings are set for next week regarding recalls involving Toyota vehicles. More than 8 million of the automaker’s vehicles have been recalled in the last five months due to acceleration concerns.
