Our Guest Speaker at the 30th PetroAfricanus Dinner is Dr Peter Dolan, Advisor to the Board of Directors, Ophir Energy. Peter Dolan has had a long and distinguished career in the global and African oil industry. He was the Inaugural Nominee for the Conrad Gerber Award 2009 given by the African Institute of Petroleum for “Outstanding Contribution to Africa”, and is the author of a landmark geoscience work on Western Africa (Mauritania to Namibia): 100 Years Of Oil & Gas Sub Surface E& P Activity, done just over a decade ago for Ikoda. Prior to engagement with Ophir, he was active in African E&P in a number of frontier-breaking corporate ventures, notably in the creation of deepwater portfolio in Northwest and Western Africa. Later he was instrumental in the formation of Ophir Energy, the shaping of its strategy in and across Africa, as well as in guiding the Board of Directors over the years since inception.
