Four dead, 2 injured after wrong-way crash on Kansas Turnpike

Kansas automobile accident lawyer alert- A crash involving a driver who traveled in the wrong direction killed four people on the Kansas Turnpike.

Wichita, KS—A Sumner County three-vehicle crash killed four people on the Kansas Turnpike on Monday, March 15, 2010. The violent collision occurred around 5:00 a.m., at the Belle Plaine service area, as reported by KSCW.

According to police officials, a 2005 Dodge SUV left the Belle Plaine service area traveling northbound in the southbound lanes, where the SUV slammed head on into a van, which then threw the van into a semi-truck. The driver of the Dodge SUV, Kyoung Yeon Chae, 39; her daughter, Yung Choi, 16; and her son, Seo Won Choi, 9, were all killed in the wreck. Responding emergency teams pronounced them dead at the scene. Yuna’s twin sister, Hannah, survived the wreck and was rushed to Wichita a hospital in critical condition for treatment. The driver of the SUV, identified as Gregory William Davis, 27, was also killed in the deadly crash. Reginald Jones, the driver of the semi, was also injured and is currently in good condition at the Wichita hospital. A full investigation into the multiple fatality crash is currently underway. Police officials have not reported if any charges will be filed against any of the motorists. The turnpike was shut down for several hours due to ongoing investigations and clean up efforts.
