Chicago, Illinois — The Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO) recently announced that their 2010 conference would be held April 9-11 in Chicago, Illinois.
Sponsored by the Barbara Ann Karmanos Institute and the International Ban Asbestos Secretariat, the annual conference subject matter will concentrate primarily on the organization’s global mission: Action to Prevent, Detect and Treat Asbestos-Related Diseases.
Some of the sessions scheduled in the Windy City will provide information on asbestos exposure prevention, identifying occupational and non-occupational exposure, public health and environmental aspects, and early warning signs of diseases related to asbestos exposure such as mesothelioma.
Mesothelioma is a rare, malignant form of cancer that is almost always caused by exposure to asbestos.
Awards will also be presented to those who have made a difference in the organization’s mission through their hard work and commitment to raising awareness of asbestos-related diseases.
