Florida auto accident attorney alerts- FHP officials are expected to probe a Daytona Beach van crash that caused 10 people to suffer injuries.

Daytona Beach, FL—A van collision caused 10 people to suffer injuries ranging from non-life threatening to critical early Sunday morning, March 28, 2010 in Volusia County, Florida. The two-vehicle accident, which involved both a cargo and passenger van, occurred on Interstate 4 at the International Speedway Boulevard exit, according to information provided by the Orlando Sentinel.

According to officials from the Daytona Beach Fire Department (DBFD), a minivan and a cargo van became involved in a wreck in the eastbound lanes of I-4. Though specific details as to how the accident occurred have not yet been disclosed, reports stated 10 people suffered injuries in the crash. Eight relatives, including two children, were occupying the cargo van at the time.

A Volusia sheriff’s office medical transport helicopter reported to the scene to take two critically injured victims to Orlando Regional Medical Center while two others to Halifax Medical Center to be treated by doctors and nurses. The remaining injured patients were seemingly taken to area hospitals to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. Two of the critically injured cargo van occupants were said to be children. Reports also noted the cargo van had only two seatbelts.

I-4 was closed off to public motorists for approximately one hour so officials could clear the scene and transport those hurt in the motor vehicle collision (MVC) to hospitals to receive medical attention. Authorities from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) are investigating the van crash.
