According to the www.D2L.org website, nearly 70% of all reported sexual assaults (including assaults on adults) occur to children ages 17 and under. The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy works to help children heal-the author works to help center.

Atlanta, GA – April 2 , 2010 — On April 13, 2010-Author Marian L. Thomas will be conducting an online “blast” day for her debut novel Color Me Jazzmyne which ranked #2 on the Amazon Bestseller list recently. Every one that purchases a copy of her book will receive 10 bonus gifts contributed by companies that are focused on helping individuals build their online reputation, become entrepreneurs or even authors themselves. Each bonus gift offers tools or resources that are needed in today’s economy for ones looking to position themselves or their company using social media, marketing or branding. Some of the gifts are focused on bringing a smile to the life of someone else. Also, a “15 hour Amazing Grab Bag” event is taking place, where (1) winner each hour will receive one of 15 contributed grab bag prizes.

However, the bigger purpose of this “blast” day is that 15% of the proceeds made on April 13, 2010 via the Amazon.com website for Color Me Jazzmyne will be contributed to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy. Website: http://www.georgiacenterforchildadvocacy.org

The author states “There are many reasons why I am excited about contributing 15% of the proceeds from my book to the Georgia Center for Child Advocacy… most of them personal. Many today use the expression “coming out of the closet” and yet for a child who is the victim of abuse that phrase means something so deep that it’s scary to think about. It means that they have raised their voices and expressed the details of a horrible nightmare that have left so many scars that at the time might seem permanent. The fact is that for many, without centers like The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy-the door would always remain shut and the journey to becoming a survivor never taken. As the D2L.org website states, 1 out of 4 girls suffer from sexual abuse before they are 18 and 1 out of 6 boys, so it’s comforting to know that there is a place to help them heal and become a survivor.”

Child abuse, rape, dealing with your inner child, divorce, love, good friendships and those that aren’t, struggling to live, finding your voice and finding yourself are just some of the things that women go through at least once in their lifetime. Color Me Jazzmyne, is the fictional story of Naya Mona, a jazz singer with a flair for Rhythm and a dash of Blues who is raped by her father at the tender age of thirteen. Naya takes readers on a journey through her crayon box of life. She shows us what her true colors are as she recounts her life to her son whom she hasn’t seen since birth. How do you tell your son that your father is his? The spiral of events that fill Naya’s life provides an intimate look at the drama, romance and struggles that become her voice. Naya no doubt commands your attention and takes you on a rollercoaster ride that is filled with the melodious tones that makes Color Me Jazzmyne a true reading pleasure.
