California personal injury lawyers alert- Seven people injured during SF Muni train and van crash.

San Francisco, CA—A suspected alcohol-related crash involving a van and a San Francisco Municipal Railway (SF Muni) light-rail train injured seven people. The injurious crash occurred on Wednesday, March 31, 2010 around 7:45 p.m., on Third Street near Underwood Avenue in the Bayview District, as reported by CBS5.

According to officials, the van appeared to be traveling south on Third Street and became stuck after it attempted an illegal left turn in front of an oncoming KT Ingleside/Third Street-line train. The collision injured four van occupants and three train passengers. All seven victims were transported to local hospital by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries. Their conditions are currently unknown.

Police officials recovered an open alcohol container from inside the van while investigating the crash. They are currently inquiring whether the driver was under the influence when the collision occurred. The San Francisco police are currently conducting a full investigation. At this time it was not reported if any arrests were made or if any traffic citations were issued.

SF Muni was shuttling stranded train passengers until the train service resumed around 9:00 p.m.
