A man reportedly received a ticket from police in Fort Worth for parking in his own driveway.
Fort Worth, Texas (WiredPRNews.com) – A Fort Worth man reportedly received a ticket for parking in his own driveway. As reported by NBC DFW News, Mike Ware was ticketed after the bumper of one of his vehicles was seen sticking out over the sidewalk, which is a purported city code violation.
As noted in the report, Ware received the ticket after Fort Worth police responded to a complaint about sidewalks in the neighborhood being blocked by vehicles. Several violations in addition to Ware’s were reportedly found.
Ware is quoted in the report as stating of receiving a ticket, “I’m on a fixed income. I’m retired. I can’t afford to pay for tickets for parking in my own driveway.” Another resident Bob Allen is further quoted as stating of the matter, “Even our Fairmont neighborhood paper tells us to park in our own driveway, but if we’re getting tickets at ridiculous hours, it’s just not right.”
