Florida 18-wheeler accident lawyer alert- Woman suffered critical injuries in Daytona Beach motor vehicle accident.

Daytona Beach, FL—A two-vehicle crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler resulted in a fuel spill on Interstate 4 in Daytona Beach, Florida. One person also reportedly suffered critical injuries in the Tuesday night, April 6, 2010, motor vehicle collision (MVC), according to information provided by the Orlando Sentinel.

Authorities reported two vehicles, including a semi-truck and car, traveling westbound on I-4 near mile marker 125 when the motor vehicle accident occurred. At approximately 10:22 p.m., the car struck the 18-wheeler, subsequently damaging the trailer and causing it to spill 25 gallons of diesel fuel onto the interstate.

Daytona Beach Fire Department (DBFD) rescue crews seemingly responded to the scene of the rig-involved crash to transport any injured victims to area hospitals. An unidentified woman, reported to be in her 50s, was traveling in the car with her husband when it struck the tractor-trailer. She reportedly complained of pain on her side, prompting medical personnel to transport her to any area hospital to be treated by doctors and nurses. While her injuries were allegedly deemed to be critical, the woman’s unidentified husband apparently managed to escape injury in the accident.

Volusia County Environmental Control teams also responded to the scene of the westbound I-4 crash to cleanup the spilled gasoline. It was not stated if any citations were issued in connection with the two-vehicle wreck, though investigations are expected to continue.
