Muskogee Oklahoma injury: Gun shots reported at Arrowhead mall, 1 dead

Legal news for Oklahoma criminal lawyers. One person is dead and five others are wounded after a shoot-out at a shopping mall.

Muskogee, Oklahoma criminal lawyers alert- A shooting at Arrowhead Mall injured five and left another dead.

Muskogee, OK– A gunfight at a downtown Muskogee, Oklahoma shopping mall left one teenager dead and injured several others on Saturday, March 10, 2010. Police officers swarmed the Arrowhead Mall, ordering everyone to evacuate who had gathered to attend the city’s annual Azalea Festival, as reported by USA Today.

What police described as a “shootout” at Arrowhead Mall killed Jarrod Reed, 17, and wounded five others. The victims were rushed to nearby hospital for treatment of their gun shot wounds. The identities of the injured victims or their conditions have yet to be released. Three of the victims have been released from the hospital at this time. Police managed to arrest Daniel Jermaine Anderson, 20; Anton Nelson, 17; and Michael Mayberry, 16, in connection with the deadly shooting.

It has yet to be determined what was the cause for the gun fight, which left shoppers extremely frightened. A mass chaotic exit could be seen from the shopping center, as shoppers were sent screaming after a public-address announcement was made. Shoppers reported hearing four or five gun shots from inside the mall.

The Muskogee police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol are all investigating the shoot out.
