/EINPresswire.com/ Electra Mining Africa experienced its biggest show in 2008 with more than 41 000 visitors and 700 local and international exhibitors, with exhibitor space selling out months ahead of the show. This growth trend is fast continuing for Electra Mining Africa 2010, taking place at the MTN Expo Centre, NASREC, from 4-8 October, with strong market support and space selling fast.
On the international calendar, Electra Mining Africa is ranked as the second largest mining show in the world and the biggest trade exhibition in Southern Africa, and is a recognised gateway into Africa for local and global investors looking for new business opportunities in the mining, construction, industrial and power generation industries.
“The support we have received from exhibitors and general business for the 2010 show is outstanding and indicates that there is continued growth, development and economic interest in the local mining, construction, industrial and power generation industries, despite the economic downturn that the industry has had to face, globally,” says John Kaplan, Managing Director, Specialised Exhibitions, organisers of the show.
“We are extremely positive about 2010, certainly with all the excitement that the FIFA World Cup will bring to the country, but also the way that business, generally, is overcoming the recession and signs are that, having gone through a readjustment period to deal with the flattened economy, business is now ready to move into a growth cycle again.”
There is increased international interest with more countries participating than in the previous two shows. Countries include Botswana, Croatia, Italy, China, Belgium, Brazil, Austria and France. The Australian Trade Commission in South Africa has confirmed an Australian Pavilion, and reserve options are also in place for French, Italian and Canadian Pavilions.
Electra Mining Africa and co-located shows Elenex Africa, the internationally respected leading power generation, electrical engineering and lighting exhibition in Africa, and Transport Expo Africa, new to the portfolio and showcasing trends and developments in the construction and mining transport sector, offer both exhibitors and visitors the opportunity to make valuable business connections, discussing the latest developments, technologies, trends, products and services in these sectors.
Electra Mining Africa 2010 is being hosted at the newly revamped and refurbished MTN Expo Centre, NASREC, Johannesburg, South Africa, from 4-8 October.
