Legal News for Illinois Wrongful Death Attorneys. The family of an ironworker killed in a fatal accident at a water reclamation site has filed a wrongful death lawsuit.

News for Illinois wrongful death attorneys- A wrongful death lawsuit was filed after an ironworker was killed while working on a construction project at a water reclamation plant.

Chicago, IL—A wrongful death lawsuit was filed in connection with a fatal construction accident, in which a worker was crushed to death by a skid loader last year. The industrial worker’s family filed the wrongful death suit in Cook County Circuit Court, according to information provided by ChicagoBreakingNews.com on Monday, April 12, 2010.

Reports stated Jose Meza, an ironworker employed by Industrial Fence, Inc., was working on a construction project at the Calumet Water Reclamation Plant in Chicago, Illinois when the fatal on-the-job accident occurred. Meza was working on the construction of industrial fencing and gates at the water reclamation plant on November 30, 2009 when his body harness became caught on the skid steer loader he was using. The worker was subsequently ejected from the skid loader and crushed by the industrial machinery as a result.

Meza’s wife, whose identity was undisclosed, apparently hired a wrongful death attorney to file the suit, which names Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, New Holland North America Inc.– the manufacturer of the skid steer loader, and F.H. Paschen, S.N. Nielson/IHC Construction as defendants. While details as to what allegations were made with regard to the lawsuit were scarce, Meza’s wife is reportedly seeking an excess of $50,000 in compensatory damages. The case is underway.
