Longview, TX – April 14, 2010 — Frye International announces an expansion of its Fresh Keeper product line, which uses a combination of color, lid organization, date-set feature and airtight, “burpable” seal (similar to Tupperware) to solve common food storage problems. Frye’s Fresh Keeper containers are BPA-free and are available in a variety of translucent colors with matching lids, permitting consumers to match lids to containers by color.
“Consumers love the attractive, translucent colors and really appreciate the easy lid/container match this provides,” said Bud Frye, company President. According to Mr. Frye, the company’s Fresh Keeper Citrus Series generates a continuous stream of unsolicited fan mail and 5-star ratings from consumers. Many include a “better than Tupperware” reference.
In addition to the easy lid/container match by color, Frye includes a Lid Organizer in many of its Fresh Keeper sets to make it even easier for the user to find the right lid for the container in hand. The Lid Organizer holds up to 20 lids in a small space and organizes them in ascending order from smallest to largest. “The combination of color and lid organization eliminates the problem of a user not being able to find the right lid,” said Mr. Frye.
Frye’s Fresh Keeper containers have airtight, “burpable” seals which permit the user to create a partial vacuum inside the container by forcing out excess air when the seal is “burped”. Many consumers recognize this as the old Tupperware lid design. Frye’s seal design duplicated the famous Tupperware design when their patent expired back in the 1980’s.
Frye’s Fresh Keeper design also includes a unique, patented date-set feature to track storage time in the freezer or refrigerator. A calendar is molded into the container rim showing four weeks of every month and a date-set pointer is molded into each lid. Simply aligning the lid pointer with the week of the month the food is initially stored permits tracking storage time without writing on and applying labels that usually fall off during storage in the freezer.
Frye’s Fresh Keeper Citrus Series is the only line of food storage containers which features an airtight, “burpable” seal, lid/container match by color, lid organization and a date-set feature. The Citrus Series has recently been expanded to seven sets, ranging from a 16 Pc Set at suggested retail of $12.99 to a 58 Pc Set at $39.99. Four of these sets include the Lid Organizer. Below is a digital image of Model 76620, a 40 Pc Set with Lid Organizer. Suggested retail of this set is $29.99.
