Georgia bus accident lawyer alert- An Interstate 95 crash involving three school buses and three vehicles left 10 people, including nine Charlotte, NC high school students, with injuries.

Brunswick, GA—A chain-reaction collision involving three school buses and three vehicles left 10 people, including nine students, injured on Sunday, April 25, 2010 in Glynn County, Georgia. The injurious multiple-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 95 near Brunswick, Georgia as members of the Charlotte, North Carolina-based Providence High School band were on their way home from a competition in Orlando, Florida, according to information provided by the Charlotte Observer.

Georgia State Patrol (GSP) officials reported four school buses traveling northbound on I-95 when one of the buses allegedly struck a vehicle on the roadway for unknown reasons. Upon doing so, a series of crashes occurred, which inevitably involved three of the four school buses, as well as three other vehicles. The multi-vehicle wreck occurred at approximately 12:40 p.m. at mile marker 33.

Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel responded to the scene of the bus crash to treat six injured students at the scene and transport three others to a hospital in Brunswick, Georgia. The student’s injuries were deemed to be minor. The unidentified driver of the bus, however, suffered serious injuries and was subsequently flown to a Savannah hospital for treatment. It was not disclosed if any other motorists and/or passengers suffered any injuries in the crash.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools authorities dispatched backup buses to Georgia to transport the students’ home at approximately 2 a.m. The northbound lanes of busy I-95 were consequently shut down pending accident clean up and investigations. GSP troopers reopened the northbound lanes at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The cause of the bus-involved collision remains under investigation.
