Houston school bus crash: 12 hospitalized after Hwy 288 4-vehicle accident

Texas bus accident attorneys alert- Houston police are investigating a school bus crash on the South Freeway that hospitalized 12.

Houston, TX—Wednesday morning rush hour only got worse when a school bus was involved in a multiple-vehicle crash on the South Freeway. The accident occurred around 7:00 a.m., on April 28, 2010 along Highway 288 at Almeda-Genoa in the northbound lanes, as reported by ABC Local 13.

According to Houston Police, four vehicles were involved in a wreck after a school bus rear-ended a minivan. The impact pushed the minivan into a red SUV. The fourth vehicle sustained some minor damage, but it was not reported how it was involved in the crash.

The bus was carrying 40 middle school students at the time of the crash. At least 16 of the students complained of injuries at the scene. Ten students and two adults were transported to four area hospital for treatment for their injuries. They are expected to be OK.

The bus was reportedly en route to Kipp Spirit College Prep at the time of the accident. Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the multiple vehicle crash. It is unknown if the bus driver was cited for the wreck or if any of the other motorists involved in the crash were injured as well.
