May 10, 2010 – Market research firm Newzoo has issued a report that puts sales of video games in the US at $25 billion a year.
Newzoo also states that the US market consists of more than 183 million video game players.
According to the report, only a little more than half of the revenue from game sales comes from traditional retail outlets with the rest of the money coming from used game sales, online subscriptions, digital downloads and microtransactions.
