May 12, 2010 – BP blamed Transocean. Halliburton blamed BP. Transocean did its own Texas two-step. If anything came out of the Congressional hearing on the oil disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, it was that no one wanted to take responsibility for the failure of something that was supposed to be fail-safe.
Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska put a stop to the buck, saying “I would suggest to all three of you that we are in this together, because this incident is affecting, will have impact on the development of our energy policy for this country.”
More than 4 million gallons of oil has spilled since the April 20 explosion, with 210,000 gallons of oils spilling into the gulf per day.
