Orlando, FL—Twelve people suffered non life-threatening injuries in a collision between a Lynx bus and car. The injurious bus crash occurred on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, according to information provided by WESH.com.

There were 10 passengers aboard the bus, driven by 49-year-old Thomas E. Negron, when a car slammed into it on Tuesday evening. The bus-car wreck occurred on the east side of Colonial Drive, in close proximity to Interstate 4.

Reports seem to the indicate the car rear-ended the bus, as it sustained substantial damage to its front end. According to a witness at the scene, “The car hit (the bus) so hard that it was lifted up in the air like 45 degrees.”

A triage area was set up as a means of evaluating and treating those injured in the wreck. Ambulances also arrived at the scene to transport the 12 crash victims to three hospitals, as reported by Orlando Police Department Sgt. Barb Jones.

Though one victim complained of chest pains, none of the injuries were deemed to be life threatening. A witness reported that the driver of the car, 24-year-old Mackenzie Clark Miller, “was hurt in the legs. They took her right away.”

“They did do a pretty fast, pretty thorough evacuation of everyone that was hurt,” the unidentified witness added.

Orlando police ticked Miller for following too close to the bus. She was also cited for her lack of insurance and faces criminal charges for driving under the influence (DUI).
