Ontario, CA—Pure Base Distribution, LLC has recalled its 4-ounce bottles of “Pure Base Garlic Spread- Concentrate” and 7-ounce bottles of “Pure Base Garlic Spread- Ready to Spread” products, due to a possible undeclared milk and wheat ingredient. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced the recall on June 25, 2010.

Anyone with allergies to milk and/or wheat are at risk for serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they were to consume these products. No illnesses have been reported at this time in connection with the recalled product.

The recalled garlic spread was distributed nationwide via online and tradition retail stores.

The FDA stated, “The ‘Pure Base Garlic Spread – Concentrate’ product comes in 4 ounce clear plastic bottles and ‘Pure Base Garlic Spread – Ready to Spread’ comes in 7 ounce clear plastic bottles. Both items have lot numbers and Best By Date stamped at the top of their red cap.” The affected lot numbers with their best by dates include:
