LEGO Harry Potter, Red Dead Redemption, Toy Story 3 round out top 5
July 19, 2010 — Microsoft’s Crackdown 2 for Xbox 360 claimed the top spot on the UK video game sales chart for the second week in a row, according to statistics from Chart Track for the week ending July 17.
Ubisoft’s Dance on Broadway, the latest in its Just Dance series, jumped up to the No. 2 slot in its third week of release (it has now moved up each week on the chart). The original Just Dance dropped one place to number 10.
The multiplatform LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4 dropped a spot to number three, as did the western megahit Red Dead Revolver. Toy Story 3 debuted at number 5.
Boosted most likely from the World Cup and British Open events, EA Sports’ duo of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11 took spots 6 and 8, respectively. Activision’s hit Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 stayed in the top 10 at number 9.
Nintendo’s lone top 10 entry belonged to Super Mario Galaxy 2 at number 7. After dominating the charts for much of the last couple of years with its Nintendo DS titles, Nintendo has hit a dry spell with its first-party DS games. The last first-party DS game to crack the top 20 was Pokemon HeartGold, at number 18, for the week ending May 8.
