Albany, OR—A two-vehicle rollover on Interstate 5 injured six people on Wednesday afternoon, July 21, 2010, which also shut down traffic for nearly 1½ hours. The injurious automobile accident occurred around 4:20 p.m., on Interstate 5 near milepost 232, reports OregonLive.com.

The Oregon State Police said a 1995 Chevy van was headed northbound on I-5 when the van approached traffic and attempted to change lanes, subsequently colliding with the rear-end of a pick-up truck that was being towed by a motorhome. The collision caused the van to roll, injuring the five occupants of the van.

The driver of the van, Lela F. Andrews, 57, of Scio, and four children were injured in the wreck. Responding emergency crews rushed the injured to various hospitals for treatment of undisclosed injuries. Everyone is expected to survive.

The driver of the motorhome and its passenger were uninjured in the wreck.

The Linn County Crash Team, Albany Fire Department, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department, Reach Air Ambulance, and ODOT all responded to the scene.

The Oregon State Police are investigating the accident.
