Lake Winds Energy Park to produce 100 MW
July 26, 2010 — Danish firm Vestas has signed an agreement with Consumers Energy to supply the Michigan utility 56 wind turbines for its new wind farm, Consumers Energy announced today.
With operations beginning in 2012, the Lake Winds Energy Park in Mason County, Mich., will produce 100.8 megawatts of wind energy. The agreement is still pending approval from the Michigan Public Service Commission and the county.
Consumers Energy, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy, provides natural gas and electricity to nearly 6.5 million of Michigan’s 10 million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
