The Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau released a Central Florida vacation guide called ‘Celebrate Nature’ featuring all of the natural things to do while on a Central Florida vacation.
AUBURNDALE, FL – Outdoor enthusiasts planning a Central Florida vacation in Polk County have a brand new guide to keep them well informed of all there is to see and do in the great outdoors. From ancient islands that provide refuge for rare plants and animals to beautiful lakes that are perfect for fishing or gliding across on an airboat, ‘Celebrate Nature’ is a new guide featuring all of the nature-based recreation opportunities in the area.
Available through the Central Florida Visitors and Convention Bureau (http://www.visitcentralflorida.org), the nature guide also features a map of where visitors can go to experience the Ancient Islands, Sparkling Lakes and Feathered Treasures of Polk County. More than 300 bird species have been recorded in Polk County, making it an ideal spot for birding. Some hotspots for viewing these rare species include Saddle Creek Park, Gator Creek Reserve, Lake Kissimmee State Park and Circle B Bar Reserve.
Featured in the new Celebrate Nature guide is the centerpiece of Polk County’s natural side — the 1,200 acre Circle B Bar Reserve, which is home to Polk’s Nature Discovery Center. During their Central Florida vacation, visitors are encouraged to explore the mysteries of this reserve and experience exhibits, workshops, wildlife viewing areas and tours at the brand new discovery center.
In addition to the Celebrate Nature guide, another popular resource among outdoor enthusiasts seeking nature vacations is the Central Florida Lakes Map. This waterproof map features nearly 500 lakes and highlights the lakes that have boat ramps to make it easier for anglers looking to get out on the water. The map is $5 and available at Polk County’s Interactive Visitor Center, Polk Outpost 27.
