Australian senator wants ill-health claims investigated
July 28, 2010 — Residents of an Australian town that shares space with a wind farm claim the noise from the wind turbines is making some of them sick, ABC news Australia reported. Now, one senator is looking to pursue an official inquiry into the matter.
The operator of the 128 wind turbine farm, Acciona Energy, not only rejects the inquiry but insists there is enough existing evidence proving wind farm noise is not hazardous to one’s health.
However, Senator Steve Fielding says he, if re-elected next month, will launch an inquiry into the matter after meeting with citizens who claim the noise is, in fact, making them sick.
