Washington – Facebook has stated that a recent lawsuit filed against the company regarding ownership is without merit. As reported by AFP, the company dismissed the suit filed by Paul Ceglia of New York, who claimed to have an 84 percent stake in Facebook, as frivolous, and expressed intentions to fight it.
As noted in the report, Ceglia alleges in the suit that he and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg entered into an agreement that he would acquire 84 percent ownership of the company for designing a website.
Ceglia, who owns a wood fuel pellet company, was accused by New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo last year of taking money from customers without providing them with products they paid for. Cuomo is quoted by AFP as stating of the matter, “This company and its owners repeatedly lied to consumers and continued to solicit new orders despite an inability to deliver wood pellets that were bought and paid for months before the winter heating season began.”
