Website Adds New Comments Feature
8.9.2010 – (Los Gatos, CA) – StorySnoops.com is enhancing its service to meet the needs of its users by adding a new Comments feature. The innovative site provides children’s book reviews from a parent’s perspective, with easy-to-use search tools that guide parents to fiction that reflects the unique interests and experiences of their tweens and teens. Those who already have a book in mind can quickly look it up to learn more about its content and make informed selections. Now, parents and children are invited to comment and share their thoughts about more than seven hundred fifty books on the site.
The new Comments feature will supplement information already provided for each book: The Story — a plot summary, and The Scoop — a brief recap of the content. Each book review is written by one of the company’s four founders, who have collectively read all of the children’s books on the site. A list of Content Keywords accompanies each book review to ensure that parents get the gist of significant subject matter. Relevant details are also presented, including genre, awards, publisher’s recommended age, main character gender, and series information.
“We believe that our new Comments feature will further our goals of facilitating informed discussions and helping parents make book selections based on their individual child’s specific needs. We encourage comments from users of our site to further supplement our book reviews so that other parents can create the most successful reading experience for their own children,” said the website’s Co-Founder, Eden Manseau.
Parents will also find that StorySnoops.com is an essential tool for back-to-school:
• Fire up the nightly reading. Students are more successful readers when they read books they can relate to. Parents can make those 20-30 minutes of assigned nightly reading really count by using StorySnoops.com to guide their readers to books that match their particular interests and experiences.
• Master the book report. Book reports are popular back-to-school assignments from elementary to high school. StorySnoops.com can help parents direct their children to books they will be inspired to write about.
• Roll out the role models. School can be both academically and social challenging. StorySnoops.com can help parents discover books about typical social issues their middle and high school students can identify with.
• Say hello to fall. StorySnoops.com can assist with the transition back into school by helping parents find school-, fall- or holiday-themed books.
Launched in May 2010, StorySnoops.com is the brainchild of four moms with a love of reading. New book reviews are added daily to the comprehensive selection of fiction for tweens and teens. Parents can also follow the site on Facebook and Twitter.
