Aug. 19, 2010 — A weak second quarter contributed to wind energy company Vestas cutting its earnings outlook for the year.
In Q2, Vestas reported a net loss of 119 million euro, after a net profit of 43 million euro in the same period last year.
The wind turbine manufacturer cut its sales outlook from seven billion euro to six billion, with an operating profit of around six percent, half of what the company previously predicted.
Despite the loss, Vestas has grown its workforce by six percent from the first quarter to nearly 22,400.
